Buckingham Group has won the contract to build a new £120m factory for Wren Kitchens in Lincolnshire.
The new 91,000 sq ft development will be built next to the kitchen retailer’s existing HQ in Barton-upon-Humber.
Plans have been submitted to North Lincolnshire Council for approval.
Council leader Rob Waltham voiced support for the scheme when it was first announced in June, saying it was “a fantastic vote of confidence for the business and North Lincolnshire”.
Construction News understands Buckingham Group was awarded the contract to deliver the facility last month.
The contractor recently revealed its turnover topped £500m in 2018. Pre-tax profit fell, however, from £14.4m to £10.3m, leaving the company with a margin of 2 per cent.
Managing director Mike Kempley told CN last month that the company was able to grow its turnover while maintaining a healthy profit thanks to is focus on niche markets.
Aside from industrial buildings such as the kitchen factory, the company also focuses on the sport and leisure market.
It has worked on stadiums for Tottenham Hotspur, York City and Fulham football clubs in the past year.
Buckingham Group declined to comment on this contract win. Wren Kitchens has been contacted for comment.
