McLaren wins £190m London luxury housing deal

McLaren has won a £190m contract for a luxury residential development in central London.

The project in Fitzrovia will consist of 88 luxury apartments, 15 affordable housing units and 35,000 sq ft of commercial space.

McLaren was appointed on the project by a joint venture of developers Art-Invest Real Estate UK, ECE and Dukelease Properties.

The contractor said in a statement it is targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating for sustainability during the build.

Main construction work will begin at the beginning of 2020, with the project due to be completed in 2021.

Subcontractor Erith is currently carrying out demolition and substructure work at the site.

McLaren regional managing director David Miller said: “McLaren has extensive experience in the residential and mixed-use sector, and it is great to be a part of a team delivering high-quality homes in this part of London.”

At the end of July, McLaren won a contract on the £5bn London Construction Programme major-works framework, and is also reported to be in the running for the MSG Sphere in Stratford, east London – which would be the UK’s largest concert arena.
